LIVADHI I SAKES TRAIL

If you seek light recreation that keeps you active, allows you to experience a mountainous area with a variety of flora and fauna, and offers panoramic views of the city of Peja, then you have chosen the right path. This trail provides experiences that will linger in your memory. The path is 5.4 km long with an elevation gain of 375 m, and the round trip takes about 3 hours to complete. You can start the walk from the city of Peja by following the attractive promenade that runs along the Lumbardhi River, which connects to the Health Trail. From the junction, continue to your left past the Protokoci crown to reach the town’s public pool and open fitness area, where you will find recreational signage and access to the trail. Follow the path, which after 30 minutes of walking will lead you to the well-known area of Horomoqa. From there, follow the “Proni i Bardhë” path for another 40 minutes to Livadhi i Sakës, an area under protection due to the presence of rare flowers.

At Livadhi i Sakës, you can take a longer break and relax while enjoying views of Peklene, the Vjellaku massif, Maja e Hasani, and part of the Rugova Gorge. Your walk then continues to the right, descending to the Horomoqa resort. From there, you can decide whether to make a U-turn or continue to your left to reach the Kapshnica neighborhood and eventually the center of the tourist town of Peja.
